Compare that to what we do today. Discuss the type of clothing the pilgrims had long ago to what we have now. Talk about how they traveled versus how we travel now. Discuss why turkeys are so special at Thanksgiving. Vote on whether they like turkey or not. Facts about turkeys: Make Thankful Turkey craft: What are students thankful for? Discuss why the Mayflower was such an important part of THanksgiving? YOU DO Students will make a Native American boy/girl showing what they looked like in their clothing. Students will make a pilgrim boy/girl showing the clothing they wore. Create shape turkeys using all shapes we have discussed in Math. Triangle, Circle, square, rectangle, diamond, heart, oval, hexagon (THey can intermix the shapes to make the turkey. Make a Mayflower Craft. WE CHECK Tell a friend something you learned about Native Americans. Tell a friend something you learned about pilgrims. Tell a friend one of the shapes they used to make their turkey. Share with a partner one thing you are thankful for. Share one face they learned about the Mayflower.
