SC: I am successful when I can analyze different rectangles and reason about their area. -I can use a centimeter grid to get 2 equal rectangles. -I can place the 2 equal rectangles side by side to create a new, longer rectangle. -I can find the total area of a rectangle. SC: I am successful when I can use the distributive property to find the total area of a rectangle by adding two products. -I can label the side lengths of the shaded and unshaded rectangles when needed. -I can find the total area of the large rectangle by adding the areas of the two smaller rectangles.
