LT: We are learning arithmetic properties using area models.  

SC: I am successful when I can use the associative property to find possible side lengths of rectangles with areas of 24, 36, 48, or 72.

     -I can use the same area in rectangles to find the unknown side length by moving the parentheses.

     -I can add using the break apart strategy to find the area of a composite shape.

     -I can subtract to find the area of a composite shape with unknown side lengths. 

     -I can explain what a composite shape looks like.
