GRAMMAR WRITING Mon. Teacher Planning Students will need copies of multi-meaning words, summarizing, and Plot. (I will give you a master copy) ***Students will need handwriting lines for sentences. Tues. Teacher Planning Wed. Standard(s):ELAGSE4RF3 LT: I am learning to read unfamiliar words in context and out of context using phonics and decoding skills. SC: ❑ I can read words with multiple syllables. ❑ I can recognize roots and affixes. ❑ I can read all letter sound combinations correctly. ❑ I can use cueing systems (e.g., phonics and context clues) to determine pronunciation and meaning. Lesson/Activity: Students will engage in interactive think-pair-share review and direct instruction of application of R-controlled syllable rules through use of sorting and error analysis. Standard(s): ELAGSE4RL4 LT: I am learning to determine the meaning of words in a text, including those that relate (allude) to significant characters found in mythology. SC: I can research unknown words to find definitions. Lesson/Activity: Read Aloud- Teacher Choice Students will listen to a story and write down any words that they hear that are unfamiliar or a word that could be a multi-meaning word. Standard(s): ELAGSE4L1h LT: I am learning how to write legibly in cursive. SC: ❑ I can correctly form overcurve and undercurve cursive letters. Lesson/Activity: Students will Close read a familiar story with incorrectly spelled words with the more tricky R controlled syllables. Teacher will close read and model correction of 2-3 errors. Then students will reread with a partner and pairs will correct remainder of errors for incorrectly spelled R-controlled syllable patterns within words. Standard(s): ELAGSE4RL2 LT: I am learning to summarize a text. SC: I can paraphrase details from a text. Lesson/Activity: Read aloud- Teacher choice. Students will listen to the story and then write a short summary of the story. Standard(s): ELAGSE4L1h LT: I am learning how to write legibly in cursive. Lesson/Activity: Unit 5 Review 1.10.25 Students will Check their error analysis stories from yesterday with their teacher on large screen whole group. After quick review of R-controlled spelling patterns, students will engage in R-controlled Scoot. Lesson/Activity: Read Aloud- Teacher’s choice. Students will listen to the story and then write down the characters, setting and events of the story.
