Lesson 6: Determine Text Importance


Activity: As you read today, look for important details about the setting, major characters, and conflicts.

Students will be given a copy of a released GMAS practice item–Levi Strauss’s story. Analyzation of the text and questions will be completed. After discussion, students will work on creating a narrative response about the topic in one sitting.

Lesson 7: Analyze the Influence of Setting on the Plot


Activity: As you read today, look for details about the setting and events in the plot. Write down any connections you find between them.
