Science and Social Studies instruction alternates between weeks

MONDAY

Third Grade Standards of Excellence Students are expected to develop place value understanding, part-whole strategies for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, reasoning of patterns and algebra, reasoning with measurement of time and objects, geometric angle measurement strategies, an understanding of geometric properties of shapes, and data and statistical reasoning methods.

Lesson/Activity: GMAS REVIEW

Students will practice skills

 (1) numerical reasoning, (2) measurement and data (statistical) reasoning, (3) patterning and algebraic reasoning, and (4) geometric and spatial reasoning.

S3L2. Obtain, evaluate, and communicate information about the effects of pollution (air, land, and water) and humans on the environment.
b. Explore, research, and communicate solutions, such as conservation of resources and recycling of materials, to protect plants and animals.

LT: We are learning about the sources and effects of pollution on plants and animals.

SC:  I will know I’m successful when I can…

I can ask questions and explain sources of pollution (air, land, water).

I can collect research on pollution (air, land, water) and plants.

I can analyze and explain the effect of pollution (air, land, water) on plants.

I can collect research on pollution (air, land, water) and animals.

I can analyze and explain the effect of pollution (air, land, water) on animals.
