Welcome to my page. I'm looking forward to a great year with the gifted and talented students at Sterling Elementary School!
A Little About Me:
I have been teaching for 26 years. During that time, I've taught pre-k, kindergarten, first, second, third, and fifth grades. I graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Family and Child Development and then earned my Master of Education from Auburn at Montgomery. I'm on my way to my Specialist Degree in Instructional Technology from Kennesaw State University.
I believe that the most important part of teaching children is developing relationships. As your child's teacher, I promise that I will get to know your child as an individual, and I will do all I can to meet their needs as we go through our year together. I look forward to challenging your child and encouraging them to push themselves further than they believe they can go. Please know that I am here for you, and I am happy to help you in any way I can.
Communication is so important, and I want to be available to answer questions you may have or to hear any great news you'd like to share about your child.
1. ClassDojo - Please sign up for ClassDojo. It is a perfect communication tool, and I use it to share fun stuff about your child all year.
2. Google Classroom - I will have a Google Classroom with resources that your student may need in order to work on any projects at home.
3. Email - Please make sure that we have an accurate email for you so that you are able to receive school-wide announcements. You may email me through Google Classroom or at [email protected]
4. Phone - You may call me at school. Please understand that I can't answer the phone while teaching students, but if you leave a message, I'll get back to you as soon as I can. My phone number is 912-279-1509 ext. 5581.
